Safio (“we”, “the app”) is a personal safety application. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By creating an account you agree to this policy.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your location for advertising.
Your data is shared only with: (a) the emergency contacts, groups, or nearby users you trigger an alert to; (b) authorised administrators of the Safio service for handling complaints and emergency response; and (c) infrastructure providers who host the database, authentication, and map tiles on our behalf. We may disclose data where required by law.
Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit. Access is restricted by row-level security rules so users can normally only read their own records. Direct messages are additionally end-to-end encrypted between devices.
Account and safety records are kept while your account is active. Background location points are retained only as long as needed to power live sharing and recent-history views. When you delete your account, your personal records are deleted or anonymised.
Safio is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced inside the app, and the “last updated” date above will change.
